The perfect Trawldoors for all bottom fishing setups – formerly also called otter board. This is simply the only way to describe the Type 11 from Thyboron Trawldoors. The type 11 is fitted with two foils, the cambering and foil openings are improved to be more efficient.

Since the introduction of the Type 11 trawldoors in 2003 Thyboron Trawldoors has sold more than 1000 sets of this trawl door model. We are continuously developing the usage of this model of trawl door into all kinds of fishing setup worldwide.

For Twin rigging in shallow waters the type 11 is steady as a rock due to the injector system and weight balance. Where many other door brands give up on spreading the gear, the type 11 has shown excellent performance.

The Scottish and Irish prawn fleet have enjoyed big success with the TYPE 11 when twin rigging. The TYPE 11 preforms even when heavy gear are used in strong tide. Likewise have the Dutch and Danish fleet fishing for flat-fish and white fish in the North Sea used the TYPE 11 since it was introduced. Looking overseas, the TYPE 11 is also very popular on the east coast of the United States on vessels fishing for whitefish in all water depths.

Also, in many special fishing setups, as single rig, twin rig, triple and quad rig the type 11 has proven itself with its wide range of adjustment possibilities. The type 11 is used on vessels using up to 12 trawls with 3 sets of Trawl doors.

Type 11 doors are fitted with bolted on wear-knives and / or wide mudkeel for soft bottom conditions. If fishing on rocky bottom we build them with manganese wear shoes
